Students at Newstead Primary School are now enjoying upgraded and modernised facilities thanks to a $2.46 million investment from the Allan Labor Government.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards MP today officially opened works at the school, which focused on upgrading Block A and the technology building.
These works will ensure students are learning in an environment designed for a modern education.
Foursight Architects designed the project, with Johns Lyng Group completing the build.
Ms Edwards acknowledged the contribution of students, staff and School Council members in advocating for the investment, and thanked them for accommodating the works.
“Newstead Primary School is at the heart of this town, and I’m proud the Allan Labor Government made this important investment to ensure students and staff have the facilities they deserve.” Said Ms Edwards
“Thank you to the whole Newstead Primary School community for their involvement in this project, this is such a wonderful milestone to reach.
“A huge shoutout to the architects, builders and project teams who also helped to bring the school’s vision to life.”
The Labor Government has invested more than $18.5 billion to build new schools and upgrade more than 2,300 existing ones – supporting more than 30,000 jobs in construction and related industries.
