NEW ROOF FOR HERITAGE TRADES HALL BUILDING

Local State Members Jacinta Allan and Maree Edwards today announced that important renovation work at the Bendigo Trades Hall is finished.

Thanks to a $25,000 grant through the Labor Government’s Living Heritage Grants Program urgent works have been carried out to replace the roof on the iconic View Street building.

Dating back to 1896, the Bendigo Trades Hall is one of the only surviving purpose-built trades halls in Victoria. It is now accessed by more than 50 community groups each year for a wide range of activities and events.

The projects in Bendigo are two of 20 projects at Heritage sites across Victoria receiving funding under the Living Heritage Grants Program.
