State Labor Members, Maree Edwards, Member for Bendigo West, and Jacinta Allan, Member for Bendigo East, are calling on local sport and recreation clubs to apply for one of VicHealth’s new Active Club Grants.

Active Club Grants provide groups with up to $3,000 to buy essential sporting items and sports injury prevention and management equipment.

The grants are aimed at increasing physical activity and helping communities stay connected.

In the 2014/2015 year VicHealth had two rounds of funding – the second of which will close on Friday 13 February 2015.

Priority will be given to applications from clubs and organisations that demonstrate how an Active Club Grant will increase opportunities for regular physical activity in their community.
