Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards today said that the hopeless dithering by the Liberal National State Government meant that Bendigo would go into another summer without the new fire stations at Kangaroo Flat and Golden Square which the former Labor government committed to in 2010.

Ms Edwards said the State Liberal National Party Government said they would build the stations but have put these stations on a go slow list.

“When we look at the devastating fires in NSW we are left wondering why the State Liberal National Government after three years still hasn’t put a peg in the ground”.

“We live in an era of climate change yet the State Government is more interested in building an $8 thousand million road in inner Melbourne than spending money that was promised on these new stations three years ago”.

“We are not asking for anything special, we just want what was committed to by all parties in 2010”.

“Why should we suffer just because we don’t live in inner Melbourne”.
